Start for Free with Sail.game

Creating an account on Sail.game is completely free. You will be able to create your guided Game Card, explore our dashboard, and get an extended preview of all available services at no cost.

Get in only if worth. Before any payment is requested, our team will review your Game Card to confirm it has the potential to fit our partners’ needs and requirements. Only if the project passes this review will you be invited to pay the release fee to list your game on the platform.

Once your Game Card is approved and you select a paid tier, your game will be listed on the platform, visible to all publishers - but more than that, actively matched with the right ones.

We have built long-term personal relationships with publishers and take pride in presenting them with a curated, high-quality game catalog. That means if your game gets in, it won't get lost in a sea of questionable titles.

On top of that, our matching system goes well beyond simple filtering. It's built on detailed knowledge of what publishers are actually looking for, gathered through direct meetings combined with rich data on their audience demographics. Together, these power a tailored matching process that puts your game in front of the partners most likely to be genuinely interested.

FAQ

  • Sail.game is a matchmaking platform (“match engine”) that connects game developers with publishers and investors based on real criteria (genre, budget, platform, timeline, stage) so both sides spend less time on irrelevant outreach and more time on real-fit conversations.

  • The platform is built around a qualified network of 200+ onboarded publishers. On the developer side, games are hand-approved so the catalog stays focused on quality projects, not volume.

  • Sail.game is built by gaming industry veterans with 25+ years of experience each (200+ years combined) - from Cyber Sail Consulting, Eikin Labs, and partners. Originally, it was an internal tool used to support our consulting work.

As more and more teams started looking for publishers, we couldn’t cover the demand one-by-one, so we opened the platform to the public to scale the same structured, business-driven matchmaking approach.

We stay in direct touch with publishers (including regular in-person meetings), so you’re not “shouting into the void”, the platform is backed by a real, long-built network of industry contacts.

It’s not a static directory: publishers can filter by real mandate criteria, and developers get matched to relevant partners instead of “shotgunning” outreach.

  • No. Sail.game increases the quality and relevance of introductions, but no platform can guarantee a deal, final decisions always depend on the project, timing, portfolio needs, and negotiation between both parties.

  • Your game card is what publishers evaluate. The more precise your data (stage, budget range, platforms, timeline, unique hooks, proof points), the better the matching and the higher the chance the right partners will shortlist you.

    • A clear one-liner + genre and positioning.

    • Strong pitch materials (trailer, gameplay, key art, deck).

    • Production facts: stage, team size, timeline, budget needs, target platforms, business model.

    • Traction/proof (wishlist numbers if available, community, playtests, awards, press, metrics).

    • What you’re looking for (publishing, funding, co-dev, marketing support, regions).

  • Yes - but depending on your plan and workflow, some edits may require a tier upgrade or a review step. If you need a fast change (e.g., updated trailer, demo link, new milestone), contact support and we’ll help.

  • Sail.game is built around verified industry partners and aims to reduce random cold outreach. Our team has direct relationships with publishers, and we prioritize credibility signals (clear company identity, real portfolio, real contacts) to make it harder for bad actors to blend in.

  • Not always. Traction helps, but publishers also invest based on concept strength, team credibility, production quality, and market fit. A great game card can compensate by being extremely clear on positioning, scope, budget, and what makes the project a fit.

  • Sail.game’s core focus is discovery and matching - getting your game in front of the right business partners. Depending on the offer/plan, we can also provide pitching guidance and feedback to help you present the game in a more marketable way.

    • Complete the game card thoroughly and honestly (no “TBD” for key business fields if you can avoid it).

    • Make your materials publisher-ready (clear trailer, concise deck, tight pitch).

    • Be specific about what you need and why your game fits a publisher’s portfolio.

    • Keep the card updated as you hit milestones (new demo, awards, traction, major production progress).

  • You’ll be notified in the platform, and the next step is typically a direct conversation (intro / meeting) to evaluate mutual fit, materials, and next steps (NDA, build review, deal discussion).

  • Sail.game’s matching and filters are designed to surface the most relevant partners based on your game’s criteria.

In some cases, we can also suggest targets based on portfolio fit, but recommendations will always depend on what you publish on your card (and on publisher mandates that may change over time).

  • First, double-check that the demo is public on Steam and correctly linked to the main app page. Then refresh/reconnect the Steam data on Sail.game (if available in your dashboard).

If it still doesn’t show, contact support with your Steam app ID and we’ll investigate, we’re actively improving public demo detection and display.
